An official side event, organized by Idil Boran in collaboration with Joanna Patouris (Faculty of Environmental Studies), titled "The Way Forward: Developing a Transparency Pathway as a Condition for Equity in the UNFCCC" will be held on Saturday, May 21st, 11:30—13:00 at the Bonn Climate Change Conference May 2016.
The Bonn Climate Change Conference brings world leaders together to take the Paris Agreement on Climate Change forward toward implementation. It is the first meeting under the UNFCCC after the Paris Agreement was reached at COP 21 in Paris.
The panel brings together researchers, policy analysts, and governments to discuss key questions pertaining to the transparency framework, a core component of the Paris Agreement. The objective is to reflect on the role of transparency in the new climate regime, with special interest in understanding its role in ratcheting up ambition and enhancing fairness as the process moves forward towards implementation.
